Kelly Monroe was shocked when her Caucasian Ovcharka took an immediate liking to—even bonding with—Rick Latrobe, a partner in the high-profile Phoenix Agency. But Xena is picking up Rick’s wavelength, very much aware when an attempt is made on Rick’s life, and driving Kelly crazy with signals of danger when Rick ferries a shipment of arms to a private security cadre in Iraq. Kelly and Rick soon realize they are falling in love, and as Rick scrambles to learn who’s behind the whole mess, the relationship he and Kelly have deepens, also strengthening the link with Xena. It is Xena who becomes the real heroine, constantly signaling when danger is at hand and sniffing out the killers.
