Plagued by erotic dreams she can't ignore, Nell Winters abandons the set of her latest movie to search for the source of her unfulfilled desires. Her fantasy lover can stir her deepest longings with the lightest ghost touch, overwhelm her dreams and waking hours, and she barely even knows his name.

So what if he's been dead for over three thousand years?

Nell is determined to find him. She craves the release only he can bring. A release from the disturbing dreams, the overwhelming lust, the sheer need. But one woman stands in her way. And to have him, Nell must become her—Nefertiti, Akhenaten's queen.

1. Night Owl Romance on 9/14/2008, said:

Connie of Night Owl Romance: As savage as Egypt itself and as glorious as the Sun-God that its people worship, I, Nefertiti is one of the best things that have happened to creative licensing in a long time. Much of its magnificence can be attributed to the location, although the characters do carry their weights in maintaining an entertaining storyline. Akhenaten the pharaoh is a strong leader, an adoring husband and a steamy lover—a beautiful literary creation that embodies the strength of a king, while carrying the flaws of a man. And Nell Winters is an equally able character, a twenty-first century actress who is thrust back into time only to find herself filling the image and role of Nefertiti. The balanced insight between the carnal and emotional aspects of their relationship makes their encounters ever more meaningful so the readers have more to invest in than just stimulating words performing sexual acrobatics. The storyline follows a generic plot of traveling across time to find love, with a little suspense of palatial corruption thrown into the mix. The latter is really unnecessary because it chased the pages away from the intriguing couple; rather, more attention should have been focused on the developing romance between the pharaoh and his new queen under the blazing mysteries of Egyptian lore. With such a rich landscape, much more could have been drawn from the historical backdrop to provide a grander plot manipulation. But even given that margin of needless intrigue, I, Nefertiti is a captivating read that will inspire the imaginations to journey back into a splendid world governed by men of exotic faith, who are in turn ruled by their passions for enthralling women of intelligence. - 4.5/5 Reviewer Top Pick
