Caroline McCall’s first book in this series Time Slip, introduced us to the womanising Lieutenant Jake Svenson. Now, he’s about to meet his match in Tanith Jasson, She’s desperate to escape from the male dominated planet of Cyraelia, where her future involves a forced marriage to a genetically suitable male. When a human ship arrives on a diplomatic mission, Tanith seizes her chance. As a fan of Time Slip, I couldn't wait to get up close and personal with the sexy Lieutenant Svenson, and he didn’t disappoint. He’s been ordered by his Captain to seduce the hapless heroine, in order to get information about her terrorist brother. Little realising that Tanith is doing the same to him. Jake and Tanith are a match made in heaven or hell. She’s sassy, independent and used to taking care of herself. He’s the hottest chick magnet in five galaxies. Neither of them trusts the other an inch, and when Jake kills her brother in a gun battle, their relationship looks like it’s finished for good. But the womanising Jake has fallen in love, and he’s not willing to leave Tanith behind when the mission is over. Together with his friend Pete, they kidnap the unwilling Tanith and that’s where the fun really starts. Despite their difficulties, the chemistry between them is off the charts. Jake is determined to make Tanith fall in love with him and she’s prepared to turn the voyage back to Earth into ten kinds of hell for him and the crew. The scene where she tries to seduce the Captain is hilarious and Jake’s unorthodox revenge is a sizzling display in alpha mastery. Ms. McCall stokes the tension to a fever pitch, waiting until it’s almost too late to finally get the stubborn pair to admit that they’re crazy about each in a touching and romantic HEA. I understand that the tough techie Pete Olafson is next in the series and I can’t wait to see what happens to him.
