Book 4 in the New Species series.

Justice North is the face of New Species. Seeing him up close makes Jessie’s heart race. He’s the ultimate alpha male—big, muscular, exotically beautiful…and dangerous. Of course he’s off limits. But then the sexy man purrs and all bets are off.

Jessie Dupree is a mouthy, fiery human female who brings out the animal in Justice. She wants to show him how to relax, and he’s all for anything she wants to do, but Justice has sworn to protect his people and to take a Species mate. He’s torn between the woman he wants and the oath he’s taken.

Jessie knows a relationship between them probably won’t end well; heartbreak is inevitable. But that won’t stop her from freeing the wildness inside Justice and spending every moment she can steal wrapped around his hot body, making him roar with passion.

Publisher’s Note: While each New Species book is a standalone, the greatest enjoyment will come from reading them in series order.

Sadly, my least favorite NS book. I just didn't feel the connection between Justice and Jessica. From the previous books, we learn that Just is intelligent, caring, and the most 'human' of the NS. In this book he seemed to forget who he was. I felt his treatment of Jessica, hiding their relationship and even going out w/another to the bar was almost cruel. LD has written that NS once meeting their one and only, cannot be w/out them. Justice didn't treat Jessica that way. I sort-of resented him towards the end of the book; I think I was almost rooting for Flame! I was happy that Jessica was able to get her HEA. In the end of the story, Justice seemed to be finding his 'old self' and began doing right by Jessica.

What I loved is that Jessie was the right match for leader Justice. Their dynamic was superior. He has to be my fave along with Slade and Tiger (anxious for his book)

Jessie never had a chance, but at least she had help. Justice really has his hands full! I'm glad this one was different then the others and hope to see even more! You'll read more then once.

I liked this book for the fact that it broke the formula. Jessie never got kidnapped and had to have Justice save her. There was no " big separation" either. The sex was hot, of course! I did not find her immature either. Justice was very conflicted and that was understandable.

A NIGHT OWL REVIEWS BOOK REVIEW 4.5 / 5 Top Pick - Reviewed by: Chris Justice is the face of New Species and the most “tame.” Until he meets Jessie. Then all his social graces go flying out the window. Not without a fight; he tries to suppress his animalistic urges but nature beats his will. The benign leader of New Species shows he’s the biggest alpha of all when it comes to his woman, but also that he can use the brain he was born with when common sense needs to play a part. Jessie has always thought Justice was gorgeous, but up close he’s all that and more. The chemistry they generate is nothing she has ever encountered and although she knows that they can’t be a couple she decides to roll the dice for one night of passion to last her the rest of her life. But one night isn’t enough for either of them, and so begins a secret relationship that will change things forever for them both. The few times we’ve “met” Justice in the previous books he was the epitome of control and public relations. In comparison the men who fell before him were chest-thumping Neanderthals. But as Justice is more closely examined it becomes obvious he’s like the rest of his kind only he’s willing to suppress and project to meet the public demands. Hair dye but no socks are just the tip of the iceberg. His biggest challenge ever is knowing he has to let Jessie go, but he just can’t. He tells her he’s letting her go but his behavior says everything but. To some that might be a turnoff but to me it showed his inner conflict perfectly. While I’ve enjoyed ever single New Species story this is my new favorite. Until the next comes along of course. A series that MUST be read in order, in my opinion, but worth every heart wrenching erotic moment spent chained to your ereader.
