Sometimes starting over means facing your greatest fears…

Miranda Lyons is adept at pretending to be someone else, someone without a past. She’s able to forget for chunks of time that she comes from a very wealthy, notorious family. She’s given up most of the party-girl vices from her old life, including sex. Until Nathan Cross barges into her life…

To all appearances, Nathan Cross is a simple man—devoted to family and friends, committed to his work. But nothing is simple about Nate’s feelings for Miranda. Fascination quickly blooms into outright lust, and not just for her body. He wants all of her, even the parts she hides from the world. But Miranda’s secrets threaten to drive away the one man capable of both helping her come to terms with her past and supporting a future with a love that’s all about truth.

My rating says it all... fully developed and wonderfully relatable characters, not to mention a sexy lead male and a strong yet vulnerable female lead. Interesting plot with some sweet and surprising twists mixed perfectly with sexy scenes that will melt your screen. A DEFINITE MUST READ from a fresh new author with a fun snarky attitude. Looking forward to more!

Full disclosure: Taryn's my CP and I got to read this book from its inception through the stages since. I fully intend to reread it again in its final form, but I've already read it several times as a work-in-progress and loved each step Taryn took to make it the book it is today. Nate is one of my favorite heroes - sweet, smart, resourceful and oh yeah, did I mention hot? He also comes equipped with several equally delicious brothers that we'll be meeting in subsequent books (which I can't wait for!) And Miranda is complicated, though she has a much better heart than she gives herself credit for. Give me layers to peel back with a character and I'm a happy reader. Miranda definitely has them. She comes a long way on her journey to true love and makes a lot of changes for the better. Uncross Your Heart is a true romantic's love story, complete with twisty characters and lots of delicious sex. Oh, did I mention the sex? Heck to the yeah! This is a wonderful book with a lot more depth than you might guess at first glimpse. That it's Taryn's debut shows how far she's going to go in her career. I can't wait to see what she comes up with next!

Welcome a new shining star to the world of Modern Romantica (and modern romance, as well)! And a hot couple of characters that will live in my memories like old friends. I don't want to give away too much of the story (besides that I hate those reviews that are a synopsis in disguise... tell me why I wanna read it, don't give me an outline of the story!), but I have to say, Nate is sexy, brilliant and not your average houseplant (you'll understand when you read it). Miranda is gorgeous, even when she tries to hide it, intelligent, and determined. But she's also a confused and conflicted woman with A Past. As the genre indicates, there's sex. Lots of hot HOT sex. But Ms Elliott's written a story that could easily survive without it (well, without the delicious descriptions, anyway). The love story of these two is stellar, and we are effortlessly taken into their heads and back out again as they try to find their way, both seperately and together. Max the photographer (a secondary character) is a darling who gave me several laugh-out-loud moments (once, loud enough to startle my dogs) and I'd love to have a co-worker like him in my life. Might we (please!) see a bit more of him if there's a series to be had in this? Nate's family is funny and real; I adored the convos between him and his brothers. True brotherly sniping. Oh, and I want to find someone who kisses like Nate. I could use some bone-melting.
