Book Three in the Eclipse Heat series.

Lucy and Ambrose Quince share fiery passion in and out of bed; they love hard but fight often, both having opinions and tempers. But Lucy mysteriously disappears in 1874, leaving the Double-Q ranch and all she loves behind. Three years later, scarred in mind and body, Lucy is drawn back to Eclipse and the life she’s forgotten—including a snarling, lustful husband.

Although she claims she can’t remember him, Ambrose hasn’t forgotten a damned thing. Lucy left him and he owes her nothing. Trouble is—his heart remembers too, and Lucy’s the only woman who’ll ever own it.

Reader Advisory: This book contains rape and graphic violence. This title was previously published elsewhere as Intimate Strangers, but has been revised extensively for Ellora’s Cave.

Gem is a fantastic historical western author and once you read "Perfect Strangers" you will be hooked on her books. I originally read it under the title Intimate Strangers and I absolutely love the updated and improved version. The chemistry between Lucy and Ambrose is electrifying and the plot had plenty of twists and turns to keep the reader fully engrossed in the book making this a definite must read!!! Perfect Strangers is a fantastic, marvelous, and outstanding western. I can't wait till Ellora's Cave releases her updated and improved Breed True and Wolf's Tender which I know will also be just as fantastic as the original of these books were. After reading Five Card Stud (another fantastic western) I immediately went out and bought Intimate Strangers (revised new title Perfect Strangers), Breed True, and Wolfs Tender and was hooked on books by Gem Sivad. If anyone is looking for a FANTASTIC, MARVELOUS, and OUTSTANDING historical western author then Gem Sivad is it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This book makes me speechless. I am not a typical western reader but Gem makes me rethink allthe heat, passion, violence, love, excitement , and any other thing in a book you would want to read. This book is not typical and I love it. The story of the way this man loves his wife, the resentment he holds toward her for her up bringing, but his never die love is moving. The best part is wondering what happens to Hamilton the brother of Ambrose. He is not even the main character . That's how well this book is written. I feel apart of their lives. I feel I need to know what happens to them all. Gem Sivad you are amazing!!!!!!!

This was an exceptionally enjoyable read. The only reason it's not getting 5 stars is because the rape issue threaded through the story might be a bit triggery for some. However, if that isn't an issue for you, then I will absolutely recommend this. The characters are well developed and grow throughout the story. All of them do, the male and female characters, secondary characters and even the kids. It was quite refreshing to watch them learn from issues of the past and re-work themselves. And it wasn't a hurried growth, either. It felt honest. The tension of the storyline is well paced and ramps up appropriate to the situation to the end of the novel. And there's foreshadowing and dramatic changes that keep the story moving along. All of this is interwoven with the reunion of a husband and his wife who suffers from traumatic amnesia - and the process of their learning to live, work and eventually love each other again. I felt like the writer took a lot of time and effort to weave a great deal of complexity into the story of Ambrose and Lucy that I was quite happy to follow along to where and how the author wanted to get me to the end. Again - a truly good story about some really interesting characters. :)
