Originally reviewed by Ashleigh for Romancing the Book. Being able to share everything with your twin only works until you want to keep something a secret from them, and then that connect can be a bitch. For Lucy Nelson she has always been the shyer of the Nelson twins, and because of that she allowed her brother, Alex, to run over her and always do what he thought was best. But the more he tells her not to fall for his best friend Nick Santos the more that Lucy’s heart yearns for him. She has been in love with Nick for as long as she can remember and yet he doesn’t seem to be open to anything if it involves her in it as anything more than Alex’s sister. Well it’s time to pull out the big guns, because Lucy is determined to get her man no matter what the cost, whether it hurts Alex or she walks away with a broken heart. Nick Santos can’t seem to get far enough away from Lucy, and yet he can’t seem to keep his hands to himself around her either. She is his best friend’s twin sister, and so much like a sister to him too. But she isn’t acting like any sister that he has ever been around, and she isn’t taking no for an answer but she’s is willing to do anything to get Nick as her own. Nick is afraid of hurting Alex and his friendship but he just can’t leave Lucy alone, so the only thing to do is to throw caution to the wind and hope for the best. This was a cute story that really showed that a woman determined is not someone to be messed with. The story of Lucy and Nick is one that you don’t see all that often, and Emma Hillman did a great job of writing the story so that it basically told itself. Alex, Lucy and Nick’s characters were wonderful to get to know and I hope that she writes more about Alex in the future since it would be great to watch him fall just like Nick. I would definitely recommend this story for anyone looking for a good solid read with wonderful characters.

Personally, I don't see what two of the above posters problem is with the story. It's fast paced, funny and an enjoyable read. It's also the way a lot of men behave (in my experience). To me, this story shows the lengths people can go to get the person they love. It also shows that people are not perfect, but you need to accept the flaws and move on. I highly recommend this book to everyone and is NOT a waste of money!

What a waste of money and time! The characters in this story had no depth. The heroine was neither interesting nor endearing--her character arch consisted of being madly in love with a jerk while having some body issues and talking about her twin connection. The heroine's polar behavior was jarring--the same woman who striped naked on the side of the road in the first few pages was strangely too shy and uncomfortable with her body to willingly attend a pool party. The hero 'smirked' throughout the entire story and lacked almost any redeeming qualities, showing very little concern or love for the heroine--why exactly did the heroine want him anyway (a commitment phobic player)? The dismal attempt at banter and/or basic dialogue fell flat while the story line jumped around without transitions or reason. Overall, I found it to be a juvenile attempt at erotic romance with lackluster, unimaginative sex scenes. I always look forward to Rubenesque romances, buying them the day they come out--but this was a terrible waste of money.

I have to agree with Kendra below that this story did not seem to be very cohesive. The premise of the story was enticing but the execution was poor. There were too many unnecessary plot wrinkles. I also did not understand why the heroine would even want to be with the "hero", especially after one particular insult he hurled at her. And I did not like how all of her self worth came from the "hero" wanting to have sex with her.
