With the help of her Punkazz Magnifiship, Mischa’s on course to break the speed record for a solo-sprint around the world—until the storm. The sky burns a sickly gold, the waters churn…and Mischa gets swept up in a wall of white fury, swallowed by the angry ocean.

She awakens on the deck of a ship, but not her own. What at first seems to be a pirate-themed cruise manned by the worst actors in the world turns out to be the real deal. A pirate ship—in 1721. Complete with a dashing captain who wastes no time showing Mischa how real pirates plunder their booty…

Even for a short story, I found this book disappointing. The heroine uses profanity in ways that do not add to the storyline and which just make her appear vulgar. This time-travel story travels back to the 18th century when a woman aboard a ship would have been viewed as bad luck. Yet in this story, the men embrace her like a long lost friend. The sex was not romantic or intimate. When a storm returns them to the future, something which should have been quite distressing for the hero, it is barely addressed. This book comes across as more pornographic than romantica.

These pirates were more like "pirate-lite" from the good ship lollipop than actual pirates but I enjoyed it nonetheless, it was a fun read. I would have liked to know more about Jareth and his background.
