The heroine uses profanity in ways that do not add to the storyline and which just make her appear vulgar. This time-travel story travels back to the 18th century when a woman aboard a ship would have been viewed as bad luck. Yet in this story, the men embrace her like a long lost friend. The sex was not romantic or intimate. When a storm returns them to the future, something which should have been quite distressing for the hero, it is barely addressed.
