Romancing the Book on 1/14/2012, said: Reviewed by Sarah L at Romancing the Book -- I am still fairly new to paranormals and don’t read a lot in this genre but I do enjoy a good shifter story now and again. This one is definitely unique in that we have the pairing of a puma and a wolf. For being "enemies", Shannon and Anton sure were steaming up the pages. This story was more than just hot and steamy though. There were laughs, edge of your seat suspense and affectionate moments too. What I initially thought was the main storyline was resolved fairly early on almost behind the scenes and I was a bit disappointed that it was wrapped up so neatly. There was another twist to the story however that more than made up for that minor blip which blindsided me and left me stunned. I loved the interaction with Anton's brothers and cousin and sincerely hope that Ms. Dohner writes more in this series. I can't wait to read book 1. Cat on 5/28/2011, said: Once again I must thank Ms. Dohner for not totally ruining a good story - pardon, a great story by adding sex with more guys into the mix!!! I don't want to spoil it for those who haven't read the book but I really hate when circumstances "suddenly" force the woman into having sex with more than one man at a time... It just bugs me - anyways - Ms Dohner created another great pair with Anton and Shannon - I had a cat like Shannon once - ended up in the most unbelievable places when scared and I could totally see Shannon doing that as well - just following instincts!! And that is something that I must totally commend Laurann for - She knows her animals! That may sound funny when talking about a romance/erotica but when you have characters in the story who have an animal in them - these instincts will come out and Pumas - we call them Cougars here in Canada LOVE to climb especially when threatened.... I live on Vancouver Island and we have more cougars per capita then anywhere else in Canada/Western United States for the amount of land we have and you are always hearing about them being treed.. As for the wolves - she had Anton dead to rites just like Grady. The plot was spectacular, hot sex which is always wonderful and once again a believable outcome and story..... thanks!
