Blush sensuality level: This is a sweet romance (kisses only, no sexual content).

Stacey Christian and Peter Mansfield join forces to help solve the mysteries surrounding Lady Katherine O’Flannery’s Irish castle—mysteries of hauntings, suicide, desertion, embezzlement and revenge. Skepticism turns to incredulity and finally terror as Stacey and Peter come face to face with a reality that neither could ever have imagined. Their complicated romance only adds to the mounting tension.

Reader Advisory: Readers will remember Stacey and Peter from Ghosts of Auld Lang Syne and ’Neath Hallowed Halls and Ivied Walls, Blush stories in the Enchanted Holidays and One Touch Beyond anthologies.

Publisher’s Note: This story was previously published elsewhere under the title Return of the Gulls.

Reviewed by Molly at Romancing the Book -- What a sweet book! I loved it. Maureen McMahon packed everything from a sweet romance to haunting suspense in this short novella. I was instantly taken with the story and became a part of the characters and their lives while visiting Ireland and a haunted mansion. I loved reading Stacy and Peter’s story. These two sweet and wonderful characters were in a previous novella of Ms. McMahon and I am sad that I missed the chance to read them. However, Ms. McMahon brings us up to date on these two, and makes it fun to read. These two send sparks flying, as they were once in love. Stacy sees Peter in a light of love, wondering where they drifted apart. Stacy needed a story for magazine, and Peter was sent to his aunt’s house on a mission. This house is a rather large and haunted mansion. Stacy is skeptical and doesn’t believe all the rumors of Victor’s ghost haunting the west wing of Peter’s aunt’s home. She’s determined to get to the bottom of things, especially with a mysterious disappearance of Victor. So, when strange things start happening, and Stacy and Peter get kidnapped by someone unexpected, will they be able to save the mansion? And, put and end to the Haunting Passions of Ireland??? And will Stacy and Peter find that they should never have drifted apart?? Those and so much more are answered in this short sweet story. A perfect blend of romance (though it’s only kissing!), second chances, ghosts and intriguing suspense, this book will take you on a fast paced, roller coaster ride in a short amount of time. Definitely worth reading!

Review: The story Haunting Passions was very interesting and very well-written. The love story behind the two main characters (although, truth be told, there was really only one main character) was slow and uninspiring, but that honestly just led the story to more of a mystery, and for a short mystery, it was rather good. The details were superb, allowing the reader to see themselves in the story, and the twists and turns guaranteed an inability to put the book away. Very much relatable, the main character led the story with courage, light-heartedness, and quick wit. All in all, a very nice simply mystery. Rating: 5 out of 5.
