A taste of the forbidden…

Georgiana Talbot intends to remain a spinster in order to ensure her younger sisters debut and find husbands. But when she encounters a devilish Scot who ignites a searing fire within her, Georgiana realizes just how much she has denied herself regarding the pleasures of the flesh. Determined to learn more, she concocts a daring scheme.

A touch of the taboo…

Seducing the haute ton’s premier modiste into buying linen from his mills is foremost on Blane MacLaren’s mind. Until his need to bend the brash beauty to his will drives him to enter into a scandalous agreement—Georgiana will purchase his linens if he will tutor her in an array of dark delights and forbidden pleasures. Yet nothing could have prepared him for the effect his very willing student will have on him—or how far a harmless lesson in lust can go.

3.5 stars rounded up. Debra Glass writes wonderful Georgian/Regency fiction. She has a knack for building that world in a very credible way, then presenting characters and circumstances that shake things up from the status quo of other period reads. "Although "Slave to Fashion" takes lierties with history, Glass is convincing enough readers shouldn't mind. This isn't costume drama, but a good period piece focussing on some unique characters and situations that aren't SO beyond the pale they couldn't be true. If Beau Brummell could rub elbows with the haute ton, why not a glamorous, impoverished gentlewoman turned fashion designer? The hero's brogue didn't "work" for me; for some reason I kept "seeing" some kindly elderly man instead of a virile, sexy, bad-boy Scot. It was more of a "me problem" than a "book problem."

I must admit, I am a Debra Glass fan. And yet this book really wow-ed me! The humor, the characters...I loved how the dialogue and banter between the heroine--who I wanted to be!--and the hero--who I just wanted!--added to their hot chemistry. Of course the love scenes were naughty and sexy as hell--I mean it is a Debra Glass book! I just really enjoyed this book. I laughed. I did an Arsenio Hall "Dog Pound" fist pump. I sighed at the romance. Just a GREAT read!! Debra Glass did it again!
