BUT, and I'm writing this just so that potential readers of this book are forewarned, this is NOT a romance novel. There is a sort of HFN at the end. The book is really good but it's based on a competition between several adults, told from several different viewpoints. Again, I love Cara's writing and on purely that aspect, this doesn't disappoint. However, if you're looking for warm and fuzzy and HEA, this is not for you. It is neither erotica or romance, just kind of an adventure story with a bit of sex thrown in. I also found it hard to be invested in the characters. Cat on 5/1/2011, said: I tried to stay up and finish this book in one day, but sleep ambushed me. Got a few hours, got back up and finished. Note to self: just because I'm reading about an endurance test doesn't mean I have to subject myself to one! Obviously, this was very hard to put down. Characters I want to meet, hug, slap, punch, or all of the above. Be warned: this is erotica only in the sense that there is dirty good sex, but perhaps not as much as you might expect. This book is plot-driven, not sex-driven. My sequel sense is tingling. And it had better be right, because there are characters I want to see again, and questions that are bugging me.
