Jason and Remi want the same thing—no-strings-attached, screw-their-brains-out, burn-the-sheets-up fun. Pro hockey player Jason just broke up with his girlfriend because she got too serious. Schoolteacher Remi just saw the last of the younger siblings she raised leave the nest. Jace isn’t ready for responsibility. Remi’s had enough responsibility. They’re perfect playmates.

But fun and sexy games get complicated when emotions get involved. Then responsibility and commitment crash the party when Jason’s past comes back to haunt him. Like it or not, Jason and Remi both have to figure out what they really want.

Remi and Jase have great chemistry. I totally fell in love with Jase, but could also understand why Remi would hesitate to enter his world. Good characters, good plot twists, hot sex. What more could you want?

Breakaway had a strong start but it lost me along the way. I was waiting for Remi to FINALLY stand up to her brother and sister, to no avail. The twist with Jason was different but by then I was beginning to loose interest and it didn't have the impact it should have. Some good parts: Remi and Jason were HOT together and Remi's intereactions with Jason's family were entertaining. Jason has a few brothers so I wouldn't mind a sequel.

Book started strong with the characters initially having good chemistry . However both of the characters insecurity became tiresome. Half way through the book it became VERY annoying.

I agree with Dana's comment that the main characters' insecurities became annoying. Remi became a veritable doormat to her brother and sister, which made my blood boil and got in the way of a good story. And interesting twist in the plot kept me going, and I actually wished the author had extended the storyline! Thankfully, Jason has several brothers, so I'm hoping we'll eventually see how Jason and Remi handle their modern family. :)
