A on 11/21/2010, said: WARNING -- SPOILER-ISH This book is a really mixed bag. I believe if the blurb and excerpt had been a tad less mysterious about the plot I would have passed on this. Starr utilizes lovely, flowing language, but transition between scenes is nonexistent. This was especially irksome because several flashbacks were incorporated into the story. I found myself backtracking to find out where the story's present left off and the flashback began. I commend the author for drawing attention to the trama and emotional scars teen bullying inflicts on people, but something got "lost in translation" probably due to the story's compression. Given the protagonist's trust issues, the mutual dishonesty among ALL the main characters turned me off. Erotica is well-written but I found it untitillating due to the "mystery factor" and implied infidelity. I didn't find the story's resolution very credible, either. It seemed weird Anne could be holding on to this horrible personal trauma that is impacting her life and then just as quickly "toss it out" in order to enjoy a threesome with two people who've lied to her and to whom she herself has lied.
