Lucy Harper always thought of herself as an ordinary woman, but she suddenly finds herself in extraordinary circumstances. Her sleepy hometown of Peace, Mississippi, turns out to be far from peaceful, what with shapeshifters, vampires and other departures from the “good ol’ Southern boy” stereotype cropping up. Her best friends are all hiding devastating secrets. Her ex-boyfriend is suddenly interested in making up. Her sexy new boyfriend is not only the hottest guy she’s ever met, he’s got some pretty big secrets himself, including what he really is and what he does—besides providing the best sex she’s ever had, that is.

And her new tattoo might be more than a picture of her favorite flower—according to the local werewolf pack, it’s a “sex symbol”. There may be a fight to the death over who gets to claim her as mate.

I wanted to like this novel a lot more than I actually did. The central premise – that Lucy’s new tattoo is actually a symbol designed to make her a potential mate for an alpha werewolf – is smart and original, and Tracy Kitts’ chatty, conversational style draws you in, helping you to believe in Lucy’s dilemma even as events unfolding around her become ever more monstrous. There are also a couple of scorching hot sex scenes, most notably one involving sex on a car in the pouring rain. The problem is, those sex scenes only make up a tiny percentage of the book’s two hundred plus pages. Sex Symbol comes across as a horror novel spiced up with some erotic content, rather than a full-on erotic romance – which is fine if that’s what you’re looking for, but personally I prefer a little more sausage with my sizzle. And when Lucy’s first coupling in the book – the aforementioned car scene – is fuelled by having had her drink spiked by a friend, it raises issues of dubious consent that some people won’t be comfortable with. But if you like Punk’d-style humour and a hefty dollop of gore with your romance, Sex Symbol should appeal to you – and it’ll make you think twice about booking that appointment at the tattooist’s…

This story started out slow but it was necessary to build up the plot and the characters.

Reviewed by: Ursshebear of Night Owl Erotica - Top Pick Once again I wish there were more stars in the rating process. Tracey Kitts' novel "Sex Symbol" is fantastic!!!! Her characters, Lucy Harper, Eramus, Oz, James, Wolf, and more all weave a story that is so much fun to read. I found myself daydreaming about what I had read until I could pick up her book and continue on. I found myself wondering, which of the characters were Werewolf’s, who were the bad guys, what was Oz's job. Who was going to fall in love with who. Each fact unfolds itself in due time throughout the story. There were more Werewolves than Vampires, but heck, I was so tied up in the story line of the Werewolves alone, that any mention of a vampire paled. Tracey Kitts will have you guessing right up to the end!!! I can't recommend her novel enough.

Sex Symbol is a paranormal romance story with humans, vampire and werewolves. Lucy Harper is the co-owner of a Decorating Business, a shop called Passionate Petals. Her sexy neighbour is Eramus Creed a retired bounty hunter with a secret. With the help of her good friends, Lucy tries to just survive in her town of Peace. But just who are her friends and why isn’t Peace living up to its name. Cool suspense and intrigue in the story. James is Lucy’s ex-boyfriend that wants her back. Don’t we all have an ex that we would like to get even with or for them to realize what they gave up? I don’t usually like 1st narrative because it’s too one sided, but this one has enough description to know what the other characters are feeling. It had a good plot, great characters, and just the right amount of steamy scenes. I was glued to it through the whole book. It was really hard to stop reading.

Really well written book. Had me engaged from beginning to end. I'm not usually into first person romance, but this story was so engaging, the voice so smart, I couldn't put it down.
