When Quade swoops in to save his archenemy, Sol, from bloodthirsty Cybers, he doesn’t expect to find himself almost torn apart, terrified beyond imagining and even worse—declaring his love for her.

Now they’re trapped on Sol’s spaceship, both half-insane due to the Cybers pumping them full of some lust drug. If they can’t get a hold of themselves quickly, they’re going to be doing some pretty dirty things.

But surprisingly, Sol doesn’t seem to mind that newfound feelings are bursting out all over—especially when said feelings pave the way for wild and constant sex with her former enemy.

I can't believe I wasted money on this trash. It is horrible. From the wimpy hero to the bad writing I don't think there is anything I can recommend. Quade comes to the rescue of Sol, only to have the plan fail and them captured and drugged by cybers. During the first few scenes I lose all faith in the hero as he starts to cry when faced with death. While he does manage to get them free of the immediate danger and they escape it isn't really enough to restore my faith in him. Once back aboard Sol's ship, the hero professes his love out of the blue only to discover the woman of his dreams (who he apparently doesn't even believe is all that attractive) is part cyborg as well. He cries again. Now I will stop right here to say that I don't mind a man crying in the right situation - when he thinks he has lost the love of his life or at the birth of his child - but seriously, Quades blubbering at the drop of a hat is annoying and a real turn off. Especially when I want my hero to save the day, not fall apart. Sol and Quade return to the ship to find out the cybers have drugged them with an aphrodesiac. They managed to hold it off for several days but obviously give into the lust finally. Ignoring the week characters who really have nothing to recommend them, Sol is more of a man than Quade is, and she isn't even all that likable. We then go into the writing, if I had to read about Quade's big butt one more time I thought I was going to scream. It was horrible. I forced myself to read the story thinking maybe the sex scenes would be super hot and steamy. Nope, just some nods to the possibility of kink and plain old vanilla sex scene writing. I can't say there is anything at all to recommend this book and I really wish I had my $5 back.

I absolutely adored Quade and Sol! While Quade wasn't the most Alpha type i've seen before, he was actually a refreshing and more realistic hero than those I normally read about. Charlotte is a wonderful writer and I look forward to many more enjoyable books from her. So if you haven't gotten your copy of The Horizon yet, don't wait!

Charlotte Stein is a breath of fresh air in world of erotic romance. Her characters are full of delightful quirks that make me wish they were real - I'd love to hang out with them. Quade in particular. Her sense of humor shines brilliantly through her prose, and the sex is HOT. I can't recommend The Horizon enough, and I eagerly await her next story. In short, Ms. Stein rocks it hard.
