Owned by one man, loved by another.

Abducted and delivered into sexual slavery, Lori has surrendered her will in order to survive. For more than a decade, she’s been known as Summer, her owner’s possession until he gives her to his newest lieutenant, a mysterious man called RJ.

Commanding and virile, RJ controls without cruelty and possesses without threat, engendering a mixture of safety and passion. In his strong arms, Summer enjoys carnal pleasure she’s never known and tenderness she’s craved. In his heated gaze, she experiences a sense of recognition she doesn’t immediately understand until it proves dangerous in a way she could never have imagined.

Bound by desire, need and growing love, RJ traverses the shadowy world of human trafficking, risking all for Summer’s freedom. But when he learns she harbors a fateful secret that threatens to tear her from him, they stand to lose everything.

Review: Yikes! Just reading the Prologue gave me chills. Every mother’s nightmare brought to life. A child so very easily taken and picked up never to be seen again. Very emotional and disturbing that had me squirming but enthralled to read more. Sex trafficking and the manipulation of human behaviour by psychopaths is explained in vivid detail. Understand for the things Summer does because she is a victim of manipulation enables me to empathise with her and question what I might do in her place. The relationship between RJ and Summer is highly erotic. The dedication RJ has to right a wrong he did is heart-warming. Just when you think the story will be ending too soon realization of Nicky being her child pulls on your emotion and just say ” ahhhhh..... I get it now” even when you thought you already did. I had to go back to check that this is fictional because the details are so real and plausible is could happen to anyone at anytime. In all the years reading ebooks from this site, this is the first time I've been moved enough to comment on one. I was very surprised at the substance of the book. I usually just skip to the steamy parts in books with dual focus on rescue, or kidnapping etc. because the details are really quite dull and wordy. Not so with this one. It's a very touching story. You do keep reading through to the last. I'm always annoyed at so many ebooks being not very well written and making attempts to be funny by using popular catch phrases. This book is more on the serious, emotional side, and sticks to the point of the story. Very very impressed. Would love to read more ebooks like this.

As other reviewers stated, this book delves into human trafficking but not as deep that it was emotionally draining but is a look into the sex slave trade, which is upsetting in that fact alone. However, the author makes you care about the main characters, RJ and Summer, and you feel their pain, their love and what they are willing to risk to get out of a bad situation. This book keeps you reading until the last page. It starts out with getting your heart pounding and keeps it that way until the very believable end.

I have purchased everyone of Tina Donahue's books so far and have loved everyone of them. This book totally interested me because of the difference in the story line from her previous novels. As Lori said in her review this is a very touchy subject and you knew right away going into the book that things were going to be darker and not so cut and dry as previous novels. This book was written in a way that made the subject, the plot and the characters in it very realistic, heartbreaking and yet still uplifting. *Spoiler Alert* The fact that Donahue didn't gloss over the pain that Summer went through when she thought that RJ was sending her out to "service" some clients but yet didn't make it so dark, so painful that you couldn't read it was some of the best writing I've seen in any book. I usually can figure out a plot quite quickly in any book or movie I see - drives my hubby nuts when I solve something in the first 15 minutes or less - but this really kept me on my toes.... I really couldn't figure out what RJ was up to until it evolved on the page. And yes I knew who they both were right away as well but it still kept me guessing. The fact that Summer was willing to place herself in harm's way for RJ - the only person who treated her like a human with thoughts and feelings, someone who didn't have to be perfect was very true to life. The fact that RJ had developed almost obsessive feelings for the girl he spent years looking for was also psychologically realistic - in a twisted form of survivor's guilt.... I feel like I'm using the word "realistic" too much but it is the clearest word for this book. The epilogue of the story was where everything really came together - it wrapped up the story in a way that didn't rush the ending, or take away from the struggle that the lovers went through - the fact that everything didn't just click and be all Happily Ever After just made this story just that much more believable. The fact that RJ and Summer still had to work to make their happy ending was more true to life than a lot of these stories that have deep conflict in them. I have to say that Tina Donahue made a very successful foray into another genre, into a deep and dark place and came out with a true gem of an erotic e-book. >^..^<

Due to the subject matter I wasn't going to buy this book until I read Lori's review. From the first page, my heart was racing & I couldn't put the book down. I purchased it Saturday & read until late in the evening & couldn't keep my eyes open & put it down...I didn't want to miss a word written. During the night everytime I woke up I kept thinking about RJ & Summer. This morning I finished the book & my heart is still racing. "In His Arm's" is one of the most riveting stories I've ever read. The love between RJ & Summer grips your heart & had me rooting for them all the way. I couldn't figure out how RJ & Summer could end up together but Ms. Donahue did an excellent job...like Lori said it was very realistic. This book is a must read. I can't wait for Ms. Donahue's next.

Wow, if you want a story that keeps your heart pounding and on the edge of your seat throughout the entire story then pick up this book. Normally I would not pick this type of book to read as the subject matter is so difficult to read. Sexual slavery shouldn’t exist right? Unfortunately it does but I knew going in that this story would have a happily ever after. That and the cover convinced me (OK – that sounds terribly shallow!!) While the theme of the book – sexual slavery – is highly disturbing, the author, Tina Donahue, delivers the plot with excruciating attention to detail to the emotions felt by both lead characters, Summer and RJ. I felt their pain, their conflict, their love for each other – their fear for each other. I was terrified for the outcome and couldn’t conceive how the author was going to save them from the bad guy. But she did and in so realistic a manner. Tina Donahue will forever be on my auto-buy list. Bravo for a job well done Tina.
