Shirley on 5/22/2011, said: Ms. Chenery develops the personalities of her characters well, and the plot is good but not super original and sorta cliched if you're used to reading books in this genre. I give Ms. Chenery big props for not getting too caught in the issues with series writing, her plots and characters are quite different from book to book. And she brings a little bit different aspects into the sex scenes from book to book. I hate when you read a series, and if you just change the names it's essentially the same book! But she does have super lame idiot villains, Sek is such an incompetent twit, should have been killed off by Apep or Ra's Chosen in the first book!! I've read the first two and obviously this one, and look forward to Akori, Keysen, and Takan's stories. And I think I already know the plot twister for Takan - all that hiding behind the hair, hmmm! Cat on 10/4/2010, said: I agree that "Soul Hunger" so far has been my favorite of this series... that's usually the case though the first being the first... anyways the reason I gave Longed-For Hunger 5 stars is that I loved how Denger was all about having Nyx come to care for and trust him before telling her who he was... and I loved how Nyx was hooked on Paranormal romances like a lot of us women - how many of us have read a book and had the hero come to life for us and would love to be the woman in that book - this happened for Nyx.... The other thing that really made this book better for me than Mate Hunger was that Denger learned from the other two's mistakes.... Yeah about time!! However I can't wait for Akori's book because we all know he's going to fight it to the bitter or in this case "steamy" end!! Marisa Chenery has herself stated that Takan will have the happy ever after I'm hoping for - I've got a few ideas about Takan and I can't wait to see if they pan out so keep them coming!! So far he's my favorite of those who don't have a book yet with Akori coming in a close second. This is not a stand alone book and I strongly suggest that you read them in order. Another great installment of Ra's Chosen. I love the flow of this series and look forward to the next 3 books. I did feel that Denger's/Nyx's story did seem a wee bit rushed, it flowed smoothly and provided a great intro into Akori's story. I love all the characters, however Mehen, Akori and Takan seem to stand out more than the others, and Set, Kysen and Denger fill in between quite nicely. The whole series thus far is very well written and connect beautifully, leaving me impatient for MORE! Thank you Marisa for your hard work, originality and wonderful story telling.
