How is one innocent country girl to choose between a Duke, a Marquis and an Earl? Must she?

When Miss Alicia Silverwood marries the Earl of Dorchester, he whisks her off to Notre Plaisir, a country manor where erotic surprises await in the company of three powerful lords.

The young Earl needs a wife and heir. The cynical Marquis de Beaumont needs a playmate. And the commanding Duke of Warrington needs a reason to live. As for the new Lady Dorchester, she’s about to discover the true nature of her own sensual needs. On top of that, she’s falling in love.

It might take a miracle for Lady Alicia and her three lords to come to an arrangement that makes them all happy. Or perhaps all that’s required is a little scandalous rule-breaking.

Reader Advisory: Contains an m/m/f/m ménage with brief m/m sex, as well as a deflowering and much sweet loving.

While i agree the book would have been better if it was longer, I thought it was a good, hot short story. One of the reviewers states that it is a polyamorous relationship with no commitment. While I would have liked the lines of the relationships to be more defined, I don't think there was no commitment. I don't want to give spoilers away so i won't say much, but the commitment was to making each other happy, working within each man's situations/reality. It would have been better if longer so that feelings could have been explored more, but isn't it that way with most short stories? However, if you want a hot short read...this is it!

I loved this book. I loved the witty repartee among the characters, and the tension between their stature and their desires. Alicia might have claimed to be a country girl, but she wrapped those three lords around her finger -- and everywhere else -- to get just what she wanted, and how she wanted, and as often as she wanted, well, you get the idea :)

Not the best historical I have read - it did not live up to the excerpt. The characters are unfinished - especially the earl - the end is a polyamorous relationship without commitment. Karen is so right - Debra Glass writes good historical fiction - And so does Samantha Kane

Don't waste your time nor your money. This book was horrible. If you want good historical fiction try Debra Glass.

This story seemed good in the excerpt but the actual story is not good at all. I don't want to be rude to the author but I wish I could get my money back for this ebook.

Read better stories by her...really disappointed, because characters have been left floundering...What happened to the Duke? Did the Earl ever mature and become the husband she needed? --I had a hard time accepting that he was that ignorant at lovemaking since he was RAISED by the Duke and Marquis-- And the Marquis...Did the Duke have feelings for him at all or was it one-sided as the story suggests? Maybe if it had been longer or the plot deeper, more to the point of the book--I don't know...As for the sex, it was hot, but could have been better way back in the beginning instead of the end.

I will say that I normally do not buy historical fiction from Ellora's Cave, so this was stepping out of my preferred genres. The characters were likable with the exception of the Earl Alicia marries. But then again, that's part of the story - he's less mature and easily led. There were cheesy moments, Alicia threatening to jump out the window was flat out annoying. The story and the sex scenes were hot but I felt, especially towards the end, that they were more descriptions of the actions rather than the sensations that the characters, and therefore readers, experienced. Note that the story shifts between first and third person. The author handled this well but it was probably unnecessary to tell the story. Good writing overall, especially for a period piece. The opening scene with the maid was especially H-O-T!
