The sex scenes are scorching because the emotions are there and the story kept me hooked. Loved the hero, loved him! Working my way through that authors backlist. She thought she would never see Trent again, then surprise. Trent is an alpha male, super sexy, confident almost to the point of being cocky. His major flaw is that he doesn't want to marry a human because he doesn't want to risk their life, or his child's if she gets pregnant. The interactions between the two are perfect. They butt heads because they are both stubborn and the sexual tension is there for everyone to see. The actual sex scenes are HOT!! The author does an excellent job of telling the story and describing the amazing scenery. The beach scenes were my favorites. I read her first one - Jaguar's Claim and I didn't really like it.... however the pre-read and write up made this sound interesting so I bought it - we all take chances sometimes and boy am I glad I did. No there weren't any threesomes which I'm glad because I don't like that as much, and the sex scenes may have been a bit tamer than some others but still in content the book was a great read. Trent was wonderfully alpha in that lone wolf way - and was convinced that nothing could happen between them but sex and Katherine was delightfully conflicted - but not overly whinny about it... it kept me guessing and that's pretty hard to do. This was an enjoyable enough read that I plan on rereading Jaguar's Claim just to make sure I didn't dismiss it out of hand. From one West Coast (V.I.)
