Marie on 3/28/2011, said: Both stories could have been a lot better. You can read one without having to read the other. I think Bride Reborn was the better story. On their way to colonize a distant planet, the Terilians are hit by a nasty virus that wipes out their entire female population on board as well as their young. If they don't mate soon, they will literally die, hence their plan to kidnap 1,000 fertile human females under 40, with no kids, and unmarried. Janis Stone is a 39 year old computer programmer chosen to represent the humans and voice their concerns to Delos, the 28 year old Terilian doctor, who is in charge of the humans' well being. Snow Jarrett is a 32 year old divorcee who taught at a University before ending up in a nursing home right before the alien abduction takes place. Snow is given a second chance at living and love when she is ordered to undergo physical therapy with Ryus, her 30year old doctor who has his own issues getting over the death of his mate. Both stories end with the Spring Running, which is when the females mate with the males and they pair-bond until the next Spring Running. I would have liked to see them reach their new home planet and see how they adjusted to their new lives.
