Intimate Invasion, Book Two

This series is an independent spinoff of the Crimson Carousel series.

Rhys’ abuse as a Setti captive has left him emotionally distant from the conflict raging around him. The last time he trusted a woman, he ended up in a breeding pen on the Setti homeworld.

Frustrated by his son’s determination to keep himself isolated, Xenos sends temptation personified into Rhys’ path. Adara Kinson has proven her allegiance to the Resistance despite her Setti blood. Xenos challenges Adara to find a way beyond Rhys’ reserve and to rekindle the passionate soul Rhys has buried beneath a mountain of responsibility.

Adara thinks of Rhys with fondness and affection. He was gallant during a horrible ordeal and she will always be grateful. She isn’t opposed to flirting with Rhys. He is by far the most attractive man she’s ever met. But her Setti abilities have filled her mind with images of another man, a dark, sometimes frightening being, tormented and alone.

Publisher’s Note: This story was previously published elsewhere under a different title and has been revised for Ellora’s Cave.

Reader Advisory: Dark and light. How is a woman to choose? Why should she when she can have both in a night of decadence whereby the focus of two very different men is solely on her.

Susan - Aubrey Ross' Forsaken Desire is the second story in her Intimate Invasion series and has the intricate story plot with the sizzling passion that I have enjoyed from some of her other series. War between dimensions and races create the tragic circumstances that bring Rhys and Adara into each other's lives. Adara is true to Rhys and the Resistance but her Setti blood has her connected to another man imprisoned by the Setti and one she is determined to rescue with the help of Rhys. Rhys and Adara have discovered a passion unlike anything they have known. Through that passion, they must connect to another man both mentally and physically in order to save him. Their relationship binds their past and future together into a captivating drama filled with blazing passion, heart-wrenching romance and an adventure that will continue with more great stories. I have read and enjoyed Ms Ross' Crimson Pleasure series, but I have not had the pleasure of reading the Crimson Carousel series in which this novel is a spin off. Forsaken Desire has left me intrigued to discovering more about this creative world and the series connected to it. This is the second short story from her Intimate Invasion series and I would advise reading the previous novels to get the full enjoyment out of her provocative story telling abilities that I enjoy.

I enjoyed this story and will definitely recommend it. The only glitch I had, was the sudden end to what looked like a wrap up. There were some questions left on that section (another story) but the future glimpse of the main characters was a nice touch.

I've been waiting for Adara's story since the Zylott Wars! And I wasn't disappointed. I knew she was meant to be with Rhys and it was wonderful to read how it happened. This story will be better for readers if they've read Forgotten Hope first. Now I can't wait until next month and Javire's story! Obviously, I'm a fan.
