Kyriana Price has spent nearly a year trapped at her evil day job. And she does mean evil. Her boss is a mage bent on power who lets nothing stand in the way of his quest to gain more. When she sees Connul Graysn wielding a flogger at a BDSM club, she formulates an escape that will require his considerable skills—as a mage and as a Dom. Going to another mage for help might not be the best plan, but it’s the only one she’s got, and at this point, she’s willing to try just about anything.

The last thing Connul expects when he finds an intruder in his house is that he’ll soon have her chained in his bedroom, her lovely body marked by his paddle. But she’s begging for his help—how can a gentleman refuse? As they learn to trust each other, he begins to realize the only thing he’s not willing to do for Kyriana is let her go.

Allow me to introduce Kyriana Price and Connul Graysn – a sweet as peaches temp worker forced on a mission of sneaky seduction and theft – and a gentlemanly, yet powerful and sexy Dom mage that possesses a potent object of desire (out of the gutter ladies, I’m not talking about THAT object of desire … at least not yet). Landon Guard is such a prig that he doesn’t deserve a heavy-worded introduction, but he is the antithesis and therefore has to be mentioned. Kyr’s mind has been the perfect nesting place Landon’s spell for the past year. Against her will, the time has come for her to infiltrate Connul’s private study to steal an object Landon strongly desires. Desperate to be free of Landon, she does the only thing she can think of to free herself from his grips – She sits and waits for Connul to discover that she has broken in. I found this to be quite amusing considering most people break in to a place with hopes of never getting caught! Connul’s reaction to her intrusion isn’t what I expected either. Over several days, Kyr and Connul get to know each other quite intimately. All the while, Connul shows his expertise in domination, skillfully building the bond of trust that is crucial to freeing Kyr from the casted spell. However, freeing Kyr of the spell is not the end of their problems, they must now deal with a pissed off mage that didn’t get what he wanted. But hey—really—what’s a loathsome, oily, but persistent mage able to do when up against the magical crew consisting of Connul’s brother, Dain; his sister, Sash; and Keller, a member of The Society? Come on, you don’t really want me to tell you that now, do you? Of course not, because I just know you want to skedaddle your sexy little fingers across your keys on the way to the nearest book store website to grab yourself a copy of this titillating book peppered with bondage, hot wax and cat-o-nines … oh my! A really heart warming love story within the context of the BDSM lifestyle. One of those stories that is surprising in its warmth and romance. Just a darned good story!

Reviewed by: Delenn “Bound by Sunlight” by KB Alan is an engaging novel filled with the mysticism of magic and the seductive allure of the BDSM lifestyle. Ms. Alan has woven a very intricate tale of intrigue centering on the activities of a rogue mage and his ultimate quest for power. Ingeniously the mages in the story are depicted with a wide range of magical abilities that are recharged by various elemental energies harnessed from within the mage’s own environment. Our heroine, Kyriana Price has always shied away from her wild and impetuousness nature, willing to live her life in the shadows of existence that is, until a chance temporary employment position turns into a horrifying nightmare that thrusts her straight into the arms of the most compelling man she has ever met. While "Bound by Sunlight" is a paranormal erotic novel with BDSM connotations, it is also a novel of the meeting of two souls destined to be together. Kyr never imagined that someone like Connul would ever give her a second glance. Connul has become slightly weary of the never ending slew of subs vying for his attention and unknowingly longs for a long term commitment. I loved that while their relationship started at full speed, there were numerous incidences that revealed just how little the two characters really knew about each other. As a reader being able to discover each character attributes and short coming was a delight, with each new revelation, the story took on a realism that really made the novel very appealing. Ms. Alan opening scene with Kyr and Connul was the perfect lead-in for the novel and really set the path of the story-line. Her vivid descriptions of Kyr anxieties and doubts were in tune and perfectly plausible as was Connul’s initial reaction to finding Kyr in his home. The novel does an excellent job of introducing the supporting cast of secondary characters; each introduction provides the reader with a deeper understanding of Kyr and Connul and their idiosyncrasies. “Bound by Sunlight” has something for almost every reader, hot and sizzling sex, mystery and suspense and a very natural love story. I highly recommend it.

I actually enjoyed this better than her other book I read - Alpha Turned.... despite the fact that Kyrianna was a shy and abused young woman, by feeling safe with Connul she developed a nice back bone. I also really liked how - possible spoiler alert - when Connul decided he might need his brother to help remove the spell from Ky, Daine helped in a way that was not sexual....Thank you!!! I hate how these things always become a menage - which bugs me because I don't find that a turn on for me.... I found things moved a little quick in the emotional department which is why it's a 4 rather than a five and it rushed a few things story and character building as well as motive ways in the middle of the story but over all I found it quite a good read and in some ways stronger and more enjoyable. It wasn't a waste of money in my opinion.

I've really enjoyed this authors other novels and was really looking forward to this one. While this world has potential and some interesting secondary characters were introduced, I felt from the beginning that the characters were not sufficiently developed for me to enjoy the story. I felt as if the story started on chapter 3 and I'd missed the first 2 chapters and the introductory character development.

I love this story! I loved being immediately drawn in, and the relationship between Connul and Kyr was smokin' hot! I'd love to see more stories in this world. Thank you, Ms. Alan, for a delightful read!
