Move over vibrator, Angel’s found herself a real man—a tall, sinfully handsome Texan who won’t stop buzzing at her command. Then again, the Italian baker her father hired has an evil edge that might fulfill her darker desires.

Tanner came to New York City to find a woman angelic enough to bring home and marry, yet wild enough to accept his wicked needs in the bedroom. Angel may be a virgin but her eyes flare at the sight of a rope, and she loves following commands. If the odd vibrator with a bunny riding shotgun was his only competition, he’d have no problem getting her on a plane to Texas. But her meddling father, an Italian stallion and Angel’s need to give up control might be more than he can handle.

Publisher’s Note: This story was previously published elsewhere and has been revised for Ellora’s Cave.

Reader Advisory: Contains a dubious-consent sex scene.

What I liked: Everything--from the plot to the characters--was just a little over the top. The romance, very developed and sweet. The hero was wonderful. The story had a little bit of everything, from humor to edginess. Fast-paced and hard to put down. Very hot love scenes, but never just for their own sake. Fairly harsh BDSM. Different from most erotic romances I've read. What I accepted: The heroine's naiveté and submissiveness (she's a true submissive and her naiveté was thoroughly explained and relevant). The dubious consent (again, well-explained and I felt it was pertinent to the story). Lack of consequences for one of the characters (who still should have been punished, but at least there was reason for his behavior). What bothered me: Total lack of consequences for the person who started the whole mess.

Chris of Night Owl Romance: 4 Stars Her whole life has been about the bakery. The bakery her mother hated. The bakery that’s been in her family for generations. The bakery her father will sacrifice everything, including her, for. Trapped by guilt and a sense of responsibility, Angel is the only 25 year old virgin in New York. And she doesn’t want to be. She uses toys and feeds her fantasies via the internet, but it’s not the same as having a man. And she doesn’t want just any man. She wants a man who can help her fulfill her dark fantasies of submission and pain. And more. Tanner is in New York to find a woman to fulfill the demands of his father’s will. If he fails to comply, the ranch will be lost. He wants a woman he can be himself with, perversions and all. When he finds Angel, he can’t believe his luck. Can she be the one? This was quite a story. I thought it would be light and fluffy but it was everything but. There was some heavy sex play, but also a lighter side. The intrigue and subterfuge of Antonio, the man Angel’s father picked out for her, was totally unexpected. As were Angel’s reactions to him. This was more than boy meets girl and falls in love. It was about trust and forgiveness and honesty about what you want. No matter how much it hurts. I really enjoyed this tale and got way more out of it than I anticipated. www.NightOwlRomance.com

I don't know that the description is accurate, but the book was enjoyable. I think it could have been better and that there were some bumps that should have been worked out in the plot and in the characters to make the story more consistent. The rockiness in places keep me from giving this 4 stars.
