My only quibble was the ghost was able to communicate with Nate and Lara far too easily. If it were that simple, we'd all be chatting with our departed loved ones! If that isn’t bad enough, she’s reminded constantly by others that a ghost resides in the house and they tell her that he’s the key to a hidden treasure. Sadly though, after being burnt too many times by fake mediums, Lara decides that she’s going to continue the belief that there isn’t a ghost residing with her and there isn’t any secret treasure to be found either. That is until her lover, Dr. Nate Hoffman, explains to her that he has a special talent and he wants to help her out by contacting the ghost himself. Appalled by Nate’s claim, she takes off and leaves him. Thankfully, Nate doesn’t let this misunderstanding lead to a permanent break up with Lara. He loves her too much to let her go so he’ll do everything within his power to help her understand his ability and allow him to assist in contacting the ghost of the house. Question is, will Lara give Nate a second chance at their relationship or will she throw everything away that they have together? Is there really a hidden treasure the ghost can tell them about? I found this to be an entertaining read. I felt bad for Nate and how extreme Lara reacted to him when he told her of his special ability. I know she was shocked over his claim, but I felt she overreacted by breaking their relationship off because of it. I felt she didn’t give him enough chance to even explain himself further and she just shut him out completely and ran from him. I was happy to see that Nate loved Lara enough to try anything to get her to reason with him. I just hoped that she would give him the time of day to work through things together. This is a short read so you won’t have a problem fitting it into your busy schedule.
