When rough-and-tumble Trace Collins allows his buddies to drag him to a gay strip club for his birthday, he doesn’t expect to find his soul mate. But it’s love at first sight for Trace and he is immediately enthralled by the sexy young Adonis who’s getting naked on stage.  Trace is determined to make that man his.

Riley Beckett doesn’t want anything to do with romance or love. Past hurts and a jaded attitude make Riley a tough nut to crack, but Trace is no quitter. He’s determined to win Riley’s trust and show him what real love means. Persistence pays off when Riley finally begins to thaw and it looks as though “happily” might just meet “ever after”. There’s only one thing standing in their way—the devastating secret Trace is keeping.

I must say I don’t really see where people say this story was not believable. Of course love at first sight is unlikely but that's normal for a romance. Trace had to show how good of a guy he was to win Riley’s heart, loved Trace. I have to agree that when secrets where revealed the angst was taken a little far considering the situation. I think this was a worthwhile read, the only downside was the sex scenes were a little over detailed, I found myself skimming over quite a bit.

I really liked this book. While the plot is a little unbelievable, it is a romance, and romances are usually somewhat like that. Trace's charactor has more patience than a saint, but that's ok, because it's a romance. I like a book with a happy ending, and this one definately delivers.

I found this book to be very enjoyable. I really liked both heroes and I thought their love story was memorable as well as fast paced. Loved it!

So I chose to purchase this book despite the initial review because everyone has different tastes and expects different things from the books they read. While I wouldn't nominate this particular work for the Pulitzer prize, I did find it a worthwhile read. Yes there were a few continuity issues and at times it seemed the authors chose to force the angst to linger further than it should have. The characters were unique if a little single dimensional. Overall I think Mary's review is a little harsh.

My first try with these authors and unfortunately my last. The basic plot was reasonable, but executed in an unrealistic manner. The characterization had no logic behind their actions. Very unbelieveable. I'm not sure where the editor was on this book, maybe on vacation, as with some polishing and tightening up of this story, it would have been good. The only reason it didn't get one star was that the basic foundation of both story and characters was sound. Unfortunately, it derailed quickly :(
