The author takes a bit of time to get into the story, but once I understood what was going on the pace picked up considerably. Truro has so little self esteem that she is a bit hard to like at first, but she grew on me. Joan the paranormal hunter is quirky and interesting. Murphy is everything an alpha werewolf should be but is an unusual match for Truro. Absolom the villain is wonderfully creepy and persistent, making for a lot of excitement for the werewolves of Ludlum.
