Peanut butter has been plastered under his door handle, sugar placed in his A/C vents and a rude sign taped to the trunk of his car. Needless to say, Berk isn’t laughing.

The failing economy has forced Berk, once a big-city vice president, to return to work for his father’s construction company in small-town New York. As if being laid off isn’t bad enough, the outfit’s secretary, Lani Turner—who also happens to be annoyingly sexy—has decided to haze him. After several of her pranks, Berk decides a little payback is in order—but his actions spur a chain of events that trap them both at the office in the midst of a blizzard, half dressed and with only each other for body heat.

Recently divorced, another man in her life is the last thing Lani needs. But resisting Berk’s good looks and annoyingly bossy charm? Futile. Their passion as they come together is hot enough to melt snow. But when day breaks and the plows move in, will this sworn one-night stand change everything?

Jokes have always been a way for her to become friends. Yet Lani Turner just met her match and well her enemy. You see Berk is a man who doesn’t like playing jokes or tricks, especially on him. Upon seeing the prodigal son return Lani knows it won’t be long before she finds another job. Since he arrived he acts like he’s god or something, wanting people to treat him special. Lani knows it must be tough for him to come to work with his father after having such a high profile career job. The thing is she never expected the jokes to go far or find him attracted. There days she fantasizes about him, things she secretly wishes he would do to her by the desk. These are fantasies that Lani shouldn’t be having about her boss’s son. Can she just deny the attraction? Berk is tired of working with his father and the jokes. He knows Lani is all behind the jokes and taunting. He doesn’t know why she is after him but he can’t fight the attraction any longer. Something about his dad’s assistant is driving him crazy with scorching lust. She moves in a way that is tempting him beyond reason. No other woman has done this to him. He expected a lot of things from her but after a couple days of being snowbound in a little office is turning his life upside down. Berk wanted out of the small town and back to his normal high paying job. Yet Lani is showing him how much he has missed out on life with his dad and hopefully a life with her. Can he prove to her though that he is not like her ex-husband and knows a lot about love? Alyssa Brooks sure knows how to turn up the heat especially in a blizzard. From afar these two look like they’re about to tear each other’s throats out. Yet one kisses changes everything and the heat is sizzling. This a short story but definitely one that has a great storyline to it and tons of jokes that will make you laugh. A blizzard can damage things and cause havoc yet it can also bring hot passionate nights to two lucky people. This is a story to keep you warm at night. Not to be missed!

Good short read, about 90 pages or so. Characters were fun and the scenario was too- sex was hot.

first of all, this is a novella, not a plus novel. secondly, i did not feel connected with the characters at all. i tried to like it, but i just could not. the sex was good, the story idea was ok, but it just didn't gel.
