A man and woman who shun human contact discover they are meant for each other, when Tabitha turns to her mountaintop neighbor, Kenji, for help in finding her runaway sister.

Tabitha hides away from the world to escape the pain of other people’s emotions invading her mind. Kenji lives alone in a mountain cabin because he fears his untamed shape-shifting power. He is half kitsune—part man and part fox.

Only by sharing the secrets of their wild talents can these two lonely people unite and become whole.

BusyMom - She can read minds & emotions. He's a shapeshifter who can't control his animal side during sex. They're neighbors for years, ships passing in the night 'til her sister gets lost in the woods and she seeks him out for help. I liked the characters and their special powers. The author did a good job of describing how difficult it was for both to grow up not being able to trust others with their abilities. Their loneliness and hurt came across quite clearly. The love scenes were very erotic and hot. The uncontrollable passion they felt for each other fairly leapt from the pages. Where I felt the story could have used improvement was the slowing down of how quickly these two bruised souls came together. After a lifetime of hiding themselves and their abilities, in one night they divulge everything and do the wild thing. It seemed too rushed. The story could have also used some real action or danger. Here you have two characters with special powers and all they do is find one stubborn little sister lost in the woods and calm down a pair of parents and a boyfriend. A little more action or a sense of real danger would have elevated this book from interesting to can't stop reading. If you are looking for a sweet paranormal read where the focus is on feelings instead of adventure then this story will fit the bill as well as titillate.
