Brothers in Arms, Book Six

Gregory Anderson has reluctantly returned to England in 1817 after more than seven years sailing the world. Half Polynesian, Gregory is caught between two worlds. He isn’t looking for love. He’s only looking for a warm body with a modicum of wit and reasonable intelligence to help him get through the few short months he’ll be in England.

Nat and Alecia Digby’s marriage, arranged when they were young and foolish, was almost ruined before it began when they both took lovers. They don’t want to give up the erotic games they learned to play and enjoy, but they won’t risk their marriage again by falling in love with someone else.

When the three meet, they think it will be nothing more than a night or two of shared pleasure and erotic thrills. But the unthinkable happens, because love refuses to be forced into exile.

This was good but not as good as her other stories in this series. This was a short book. They say it is a Novel length but the trade paperback is only 164 pages making it the shortest of the series. Only "Love's Strategy" is shorter, called a Novella, and is not released as a paperback. The really issue with this book is that the characters seemed out of place with the series. They meet all the other characters of the series in a party situation, actually that is where they meet, but don't seem to really be a part of the collection as a whole. The way they get together seems a bit fabricated. Once they do get together and the story moves along it is an enjoyable read. As a part of the series, it can be skipped. Die hards might like seeing the interaction of all the former characters though. I would not read this if you haven't read the series though. It has a lot you won't understand for about 1/3 book. Don't start with this. As a reader of the series it was enjoyable but not great. It is short so it doesn't waste your time. The Shortness makes it so the emotions and characters are not as complete but that is the be expected of a 164 page novel.

Not quite what I was expecting given the previous books. It was enjoyable and still a must read if you are a fan of the series. Very much looking forward to the next one!

I enjoyed it. For the length of the story (100 pages) there was enough character development to make it worth reading and of course kane's trademark hot scenes. Not as good as her others but still very readable and shouldn't be skipped.

I have just finished reading the last of the Brothers in Arms series, though this was not as well developed as the others I did enjoy it. I will read them over again, stories this good, I will read again just to make sure I did not miss any juicy parts. Thank you Ms Kane.

I have to admit I don't really think this should be included in the brothers in arms series-they hardly seemed related at all. The characters weren't developed well, and the storyline was quite poor-in comparison to the others in the series especially.

I’ve read each book in this series more than once and was mildly disappointed with this one. I just did not see the character development so I was unable to connect to the characters as I expected from this author. Every once in a while I caught a spark in the dialogue and description that brought to life that connection but just in a flash it was gone. I missed the wonderful combination of empathy for characters, blatant sexuality, and a since of frailty in the characters along with that great comic relief. With that said I enjoy this author and will always do so. I await the next book in the series hoping that the author takes all our comments to heart.

Great romance and sizzling sex as always but the lack of a strong storyline and character development left me wishing for more.
