Never has she allowed her sexuality free reign as she does in his arms. But then he disappears and life becomes a myriad montage of what ifs that reverberate in ways unknown until his return years later. The one thing Fane regrets more than most was taking advantage of the woman who made him not only burn, but yearn for things he knew were unattainable- but the codes her husband had died to protect were more important than the wishes of one person. When he has to rescue her years later from a maniacal mutant, not only secrets kept for centuries are at stake, but the lives of millions. I have to admit that as she writes each book of the series, I find each character becoming much clearer, more depth added to the story, but as the tale becomes increasingly complicated, I wonder if the fluidity will remain. There's no doubt the men are hot, the women each in their own way have a strength and endurance to envy and somehow she always manages a little surprise twist to keep the interest.
