She holds the elemental power of fire within her grasp, able to sear, to destroy. But her heart holds the fear of repeating her ancestors’ mistakes. Now, amid a world fighting to rebuild, Carmella must learn that she cannot control the power surging through her fragile body alone. She’ll need help. But can she accept the future her leader Torren has seen, and the touch of a stranger who is more than he seems?

I agree with Paige and other comments. This story is just lacking. Lora needs to get with the program. She has concentrated solely on her breed series, which is wonderful but the longer the series, the more lacking they become. Lora really needs to go back and finish the Wizard Twins, BOBS series, and the Legacy series. It has been like five years and I know a lot of us is still waiting for these to finish up.

Lora, Lora, Lora what has happened to you? If you guys are like me, you fell in love with Lora Leigh books through the August Brothers Series and the books about The Club. Bad enough that her new books published have become so tame as to be boring. Now even old stuff that gets released is not her best. Take my advice... read her old stuff. It's some of the best (if not the best) you will ever find. Lora is now producing for the mass market/Harlequin readers of the world. I don't think we'll ever get the stuff that made us love her books again. In music, they call it "selling out".

I've read nearly all of Lora Leigh's books and this is the only one I didn't like. This book was originally part of an anthology - perhaps it would have made more sense with the other 2 stories included. I didn't feel anything for the characters and that's a first for me with a Lora Leigh book.

I too have read most of Lora Leighs other works.I liked the portraly of the main charactersin this story but I feel like it is incomplete. Like I was left hanging prehaps if I had read the anthology it would have made a difference but as it it seems to lack a depth.

I love Lora Leigh's books, but this story is part of an anthology in which the stories were connected. So it would help if the other stories were offered in conjunction with this one as reprints, or as the complete anthology again. I wanted to know what happened to the two sisters, but their stories must have been written by other authors and have not been reprinted.
