Third in the Coopers’ Companions series

Brent Cooper loves his life. As one-third owner of Coopers’ Companions, a successful male escort business, he has his pick of the most beautiful, sexiest women to take to bed. That’s the way he likes it. He sees no reason to settle for a woman who isn’t perfect.

He wants nothing to do with Robin Howell when he meets her and discovers her scars. But Robin’s warmth and courage—and the perfection of their lovemaking—soon shatter his demand for physical perfection.

His love and Robin’s courage are put to the test when a man from her past comes back into their lives. Stuart Holden believes Robin belongs to him. He’s killed in the past to try to keep her. He won’t hesitate to kill again.

I read the first book in the series, Rent-a-Stud and LOVED IT! So, I bought the other two in the series. I haven't read Michelle's Men yet, but I sincerely hope it is better than this one. I was so let down with this one. First of all, I did NOT like Brent. He was unbelievably shallow about looks. I KNOW that the whole premise behind this story was to reform a shallow guy and make him into a good guy, but I didnt buy it. It was cheesy, and contrived, and I didnt believe it for a second. I knew I was reading a book, which to me, is like the death toll for a story. I couldnt FEEL the characters, and didnt feel the sex. I could SEE the formula the author was following. It wasnt the worst book I have ever read, so it deserves some credit. But compared to Rent-a-Stud, which has a coveted place next to my bed, I read it so often, this one is blah, and such a letdown by this author. It felt like she had to rush to meet a deadline and just put the required stuff here and there. She can and HAS done better. The cover art on this one is MUCH better than the Rent-a_Stud book though--it looks like the characters might look in the story. Kudos for better cover, but in both cases it just proves that 'you can't judge the book by the cover'. Darn it!

I have read all three of Ms. LaFleur's Cooper's Companion Series .... however I did not read them in order.... Almost Perfection was the first book that I read.... and thoroughly enjoyed which prompted me to read the other two and more of this author's work. Brent Cooper's desire for physical perfection in a woman is shattered by the reality that perfection is not all encompassing and that inner beauty can and does overshadow the outer wrapping. The Author gives us this message and bundles it together with an interesting story line, vulnerable people and HOT, page smoking SEX .... My fingers are still warm... lol. This one is definitely a keeper and a must read ..... Enjoy it.
