Tori Banks has suffered nightmares of the same two murderers for years. When she hears reports of another killing, she questions whether the others were also real or just macabre dreams. Can she trust the tall, dark detective who makes her forget about cold-blooded killers and think only of hot, screaming sex?

Detective Guy Breauchard is skeptical when he sets out to meet the woman who sees serial killers in her sleep. But one look is all it takes to stir his blood and have him yearning to fuck her. He’ll have to keep his hands off the sexy psychic if he has any hope of keeping her safe and out of the hands of the chilling predators who have plans of their own for her.

Reader Advisory: This story contains scenes of extreme violence.

I believed I was the only one who thought this book was just dreadful, but I was wrong. I, too, just skimmed through the book without losing any sense of the plot. One angst-ridden dialogue was much like the next, so I was "happy" to move on to the next scene or chapter. Also, could the hero not fight his own battles? Did he really need other characters in the book pulling the heroine to one side to sing his praises, to say how wonderful he was? It felt forced. I agree with every comment made about this book, particularly Laura's comments, so, I will not repeat what has already been written by other reviewers. What I can add, on a constructive note, is that all the book needed was some heavy editing, a stronger heroine, who, despite having insecurities, did not constantly dwell on them ad nauseum, and a hero, who spoke less and acted more. Also, this was supposed to be romantic suspense. Where was the suspense? It was an afterthought. The killers should have been the basis of all the dread, anguish and fear, not the heroine's insecurities. The book could easily have been 100 pages shorter without losing any of the suspense and any of the plot. The premise was a good one (the reason I bought it in the first place) and the sex scenes were not badly-written, despite the hero and heroine's penchant to talk their way through them instead of just enjoying the experience. I see that the author has written other books, but because of this one, I have automatically added her to my list of "authors to avoid".

I only really stuck with this book to see if the poor comments were justified. Unfortunately they were. The monologues went on and on which was a shame. The story was pretty good.

I have read many, many books and I never skim ... until this book. The sad part is that I wasn't skipping over any violence or parts too risque. Nope, I was skipping anything that wasn't sex. The main characters here have a horrendous propensity for launching into heartfelt, emotional, lengthy, and overwrought monologues every single time they open their mouths. It was awful. The only redeeming parts of this book were the erotic ones. Just as bad as the neverending monologues was the lack of character development. The heroine keeps repeating things like "you're too good for me", "nobody will ever love me ", and my personal favorite "You'll leave me as soon as this crisis is over." Trust, abandonment, and self esteem issues, oh my! If this nauseating drivel hasn't taken up 3/4 of the book, it might have been okay. She never gets better or stronger, never learns to trust until the last 15 pages of a very long book. The ceaseless repetition and lack of character arc was also seen in our hero who keeps repeating things like "you're perfect", "I'm in love with you and that will NEVER change", and "I'm not leaving no matter how hard you try to drive me away." Stalker much? If he hadn't been pandering to her neurotic insecurities the entire novel, I don't know what he would have done. There were other issues but I've gone on too long already. If you enjoy plot, action, or relatable, sane characters, this is not the book for you.

Wow! I really loved Chapters 9 and 24! This book was slightly squeamish in places, but thankfully there was just enough description of the gritty parts. The horrific parts were left to the imagination, and the interaction between the hero and heroine was fantastic as two people learned to trust each other. Gritty, but held my attention!
