On her forty-sixth birthday, Marybeth buys a red convertible, equipped with the latest GPS navigation technology, and runs away from her painful divorce. At the mouth of the Mojave Desert she finds sexy, thirty-year-old USMC veteran Jake stranded with his disabled motorcycle, and gives him a lift to Nevada.

What Marybeth doesn’t know is that her GPS navigator has led her straight to the man she wished for to heal her broken heart. Though the GPS is not exactly a genie, his system grants him the power to locate whatever Marybeth needs most. What she wants is revenge, laced with a hot, studly young lover. GPS takes wishing upon a star to a new and very real technological level, as he makes Marybeth’s wildest, most sultry dreams come true.

Marybeth is an older heroine. Divorced and trying to get her life back. Jake is a hot younger, but not so much younger, Marine/school teacher. They are explosive in their attraction. Open to finding out more about each other. And a delight to get to know. I really enjoyed the desert setting. The characters history and how believable their HEA was.

By Dee - It was nice to see the desert setting with its’ many assets. I liked how the author related Jakes history in the Desert Storm Kuwait/Iraq desert to an American desert. That story line involves more mature adults is believable and there are easy to follow situations. Desert Fever is a quick and short easy read with likeable characters. Adele Dubois’ Desert Fever has the “hard and soft” of it all, people, places, and things.
