DJ on 4/28/2011, said: Had a problem with the fact that CT essentially imposed her ending on the story, as a matter of principle rather than what the story called for. This is why the ending was so unsatisfying. I mean the master told Alex he cared for her, and work on including her and she was his sub too. He said he loved her and she him. So why didn't he make love/ have sex with her? This is the fullment I was looking for. Yes there is discipline, but what is the use of being master if you don't get to do the things you reallly want to do, and that you sense, rightly, your sub needs from you? And that was for the Master to take her as the blonde had. She wanted to give all to him, but he wouldnt take it, or rather, CT didn't allow him to. This would have opened a window of understanding the master better. Proving that the master/sub rel is always dynamic, even within the confines of this rigid relationship. Boo to you, CT. Maria on 8/30/2010, said: I think it's unfortunate that the synopsis is misleading in terms of the romance (and humor) because this is a great story and I loved it. It is, as other reviews have noted, not particularly romantic. But it's great BDSM. The conflicts are believable and the writing/editing are excellent, better than most of what I've read at EC (and I've read a lot). If you think BDSM is a little light bondage and some spanking, this is probably going to be too harsh for you (try Maya Banks). If you like Vonna Harper and Reese Gabriel, you'll probably like this one. Edit: The romance is in the sequel "Two Loves for Alex." See my review there if you're interested. The control is never cold and distant, but it isn't about love and fluffy handcuffs, but a need to submit and be owned.
