I really liked all the different worlds you can travel to through gates. Also I loved Caidi's home, could have moved right in :-) What I didn't much care for: before mating Caidi is her people's respected, competent, independent leader. After mating Raven does his best to keep the little woman at home, for her own safety. While the men talk business he sends her off for a nice chat with the other wives :-( Now I understand bodyguards are an inconvenience a VIP must put up with, but I see no reason to try to turn your wife from independent trader, traveller, leader, to stay at home, mind children and kitchen homebody. Michelle on 11/1/2009, said: I really liked the way the characters felt for each other and that the conflict in the book was more about external forces against the couple. Their relationship/feelings for each other were strongly developed throughout the book and not dulled by made up fights/misunderstandings. The love scenes were very passionate and well written, but for my taste, the ratio of the story was skewed towards the love scenes vs the story (I like the love scenes to complement the story) so I marked a 4. If you love a much higher ratio, then this is a great story for you. I am definitely reading the rest of the series and her other books based on how good this one was.
