Book 1 in the Phoenix Rising series

The Law of the love goddess Lufra states that no man may take his pleasure inside any part of a woman's body, unless she has climaxed first. Each time, every time. But when warrior-scout Anje is taken captive by Brin, Lufra's shaman, she discovers that not even divine law can protect her from the erotic wiles of two determined men.

Huge, dark and enigmatic, Brin wears a tattoo of the holy dragon on his magnificent body. Years of erotic training have given him skills and stamina Anje cannot match. But it's the strength of his will that threatens to conquer her very soul, while his beautiful young friend Trey has a bravado and a vulnerability that make her mouth water.

Anje fears Brin's arrogant prediction may be true—"You'll surrender, scout, and you'll glory in it. You'll abandon yourself and adore it. Because you trust—trust absolutely." Screaming and cursing her ecstasy, she learns that dark raptures are addictive. But neither man is what he seems and all three are pawns in a suicidal scheme to placate an angry goddess. Saving her lovers will take everything Anje's got—as a woman and a warrior.

Note: This book contains graphic male/male sexual interaction.

I found Gift of the Goddess back in 2007 and have read it many times. Each time I am entranced by the world Ms. Rossetti has created. Phoenix is a different world, exotic to me, the reader but with enough parallels to make it comfortable and easily understood. The characters are a delight to get to know and the plot unfolds with all aspects of the story well woven together. Gift of the Goddess has everything I love in a story. And like Pearl said in her comment, "I love to return to and peruse again and again!" One of my keepers and one of the very few eBooks I purchased in paperback as well.

Loved the story. Was very easy to read and 'see' the world Ms Rossetti builds thru detailed depiction of characters and events. I look forward to reading the other books in this series.

Ms Rossetti's "world building," her characters and plots and the ease with which she makes an alien language and culture, 'child's play' to follow, is unsurpassed and sublime. And this tale, the first in her Phoenix Rising series, sets the standard of excellence. Her stories define erotic romance for me, treasured books, that I love to return to and peruse again and again!

Great addition to the series but I liked Tainspin and Strongman a lot better.

Gift of the Goddess is the first book in the Phoenix Rising series and I was hooked from the first word. Anje is a strong female warrior that gets captured by Brin, a tall, hot drink of water that has stamina and skill that would put any man to shame, and Trey a gorgeous man that doesn't mind showing his heart to the right person(s), and ends up falling for both men. She has to prove that love and save her men when it's found that they have been used by their own people to make peace with their enraged Goddess. Brin, Trey and Anje are a fantastic threesome that I couldn't stop reading about. I won this book from Ms. Rossetti in a contest and it was the best prize I could have gotten!

I loved this story. I loved the characters, as well as, the balanced relationship between all three of them. This story is very erotic and intense. I couldn't put the book down.

Must read. All the books in this series has won awards so how someone can give it only one star is unbelievable and did not read the entire book. Therefore, really should not be giving judgement but to each his own. Well executed plot and storyline beginning a new series that is original and fresh. I have read nothing like it and own over 1000 E books. Yes, this book does have hot sex scenes and yes this is a menage story but that is not all there is to this book.

I couldn't get past the first 100 pages. Characters were not likable and the story was almost nonexistent. However the next two books in this series are wonderful.

Prose of porn. Lots of sex, little story, no poetry in the writer's style. I only read the first 100 pages and then I deleted form my library. Maybe it got better, but I wish I saved my money.

Really good book and whetted my appetite for the next. I've read the others as well and can attest the series only gets better.
