There is serious violence here; children are put at risk and traumatized. There is rape/ incest, forced incest, and child abuse,catatonia after psychological trauma, etc. But I really liked this book. while I have never done or will ever do this kind of activity, i really enjoyed reading about it. But that didn't matter so much as this was not a story about a lifestyle, but people looking for a way to survive with their hearts and souls intact after devastating loss coupled with emotional and physical injury. It wasn't quite as fast paced as the first, but it's definitely worth the read. My only complaint about this book is the ending was drawn out a little too long. Still a great book. Keep them coming. Be prepared, this one is intense, even for her. I think it could stand alone, but I would suggest reading "Ice Queen" first. And to get the most out of it, read this as the fourth book of the "Nature of Desire" series. Her characters are so rich, it will help you get the most out of them and their stories. Beautifully written- I am sure I say that of most of her books. So tangible, painful, deep, real, moving and sizzling. Her style can't be described. You have to read one of her books to fully appreciate how she can grab you and throw you into a world she created.
