Great main character, interesting- the tortured artist, more or less. Loved the descriptions of her sub sessions. Loved M's characterization- so compelling with the subs. I loved when she acted with dignity, or was in charge at her store. There was some great dialogue here, esp with the young girls at the bday party. I was shocked I had to buy Part II! I was like, "where is the rest of the book??" So I must have really liked it, because i couldn't wait to buy the sequel. This may be one of my all time favorites. The author has a beautiful way of capturing her character's emotions and sending them straight to the reader's heart. I loved this book. I was laughing, crying, smiling...it had me running the gautlet of emotions. Of all of the series, this and Mirror of My Soul are my absolute favorites. I can reread them over and over and over again and still find more about Marguerite and Tyler to love and learn about. It's an incredible series, but these two books are keepers, forever. She could really create a whole new series with JUST these two characters, and from what I've read on her fan pages, we'd have no problems with it. These characters she created, especially Marguerite, are so LAYERED and REAL and just... incredible. They deserve their own series. Just to explore the dimensions between them. Such a beautiful duet. Thank you for not rushing Marguerite's story. Thank you for taking your time and expanding it into two books, as she truly deserved. My hat's off to you for these two books. The characters are deeply drawn, the scenes vivid. The only cautions I would offer are: 1) already stated by the publisher and 2) have the sequel "Mirror of My Soul" handy.
