I thought Claire acted appropriate for her age. Obviously, she was written to be a naive 25-year-old virgin with no experience in many of life's areas and Bud was an experienced cop of 36 years old, so her character was appropriate for the story. I loved Bud's male alphaness and protectivenesss, which set Claire off because she had it her whole life and wanted to be an independent woman. However, because she was naive and young, she did sometimes act childish so I can see where that would get on someone's nerves but that was very rare in occasion. I loved Bud, but Claire kind of got on my nerves towards the end. Spoiler: She tries to break off her relationship with Bud when he tries to protect her after her friend is BRUTALLY murdered and she may be next. Personally, if I was him, I would have held up the photos of the butchered friend and asked her is she seriously could have taken care of herself with an international mafia boss after her. Duh!!!! I understand her need to be strong and not let the one's she loves suffocate her, but thought she took it too far by leaving Bud. Claire has a point to make and didn't want to spend the rest of her life with a man that would protect and coddle her.
