Not for the faint of heart it is absolutely a BDSM story of an awakening sub. Although you mentally merge with the female, you never quite merge with the male because as such, I wouldn't consider this story a romantic one although I did think it was well written. Tons of hard core kink and not really a happy ending made this an interesting read but not one I fell in love with.
