It soon becomes apparent that there's a traitor in the company, one who not only wants to harm the business but Alice as well. By protecting her, will James finally find a reason to stay in one place forever or will he toss away love for more wanderings? Alice is a wonderful character who has always felt self-conscious about her looks and been intensely worried about her finances. Watching her with James is like watching a flower bloom. She becomes more outspoken and starts taking chances in life and in love. James is also a very likable character. He's always been seen as a womanizer who can't settle down. His relationship with Alice allows us to see a different side of him, one that's capable of commitment. They're the perfect couple, working through misunderstandings quickly while bringing out the best in each other. Not to mention how combustible they are in the bedroom. Small town living is presented realistically with many colorful characters and a town gossip. All of this adds to the storyline's mystery and infuses it with greatly appreciated humor. There are also quite a few characters that I'd like to see more of. And I will definitely be the first in line to purchase any sequels that are released.
