Book 2 in the Phoenix Rising series.

From his magnificent tawny wings to his wicked feathery tail, Miriliel the Burnished is masculine perfection.

One glance and Fledge knows she's outclassed. After all, she's a small, ordinary circus girl with no education, no looks and no prospects. Mirry's not only a warrior of the Aetherii but also a scholar of renown. Mesmerized by the power of his personality and her desire to be mastered, Fledge gives herself up for lost. But she can't help thinking if only she had wings, she'd soar with Mirry in a Mating Flight for the ages. If only…

Mirry has lots of things on his oh-so-clever mind. An ageless demon captured his friend, Janarnavriel the Noir, and it's using the dark warrior's beautiful body for a perverted playground. All Mirry has to do is rescue his friend, finish his encyclopedia and educate Fledge. By the time he's finished, she'll know how to read, write and submit for her pleasure — and his. In between, he needs to kill a deathless demon, sort out his complicated feelings for Jan and show Fledge the secret of an Aetherii orgasm.

Not to worry. He's made a list…

I was first attracted to this book in 2007 by the cover. What's not to love about a man with wings, a tail and pointed ears? And then I met Miriliel the Burnished. *thud* And have been in love with him ever since. Fledge and Jan are extremely lucky people. Mind you, I love them too. I visit them often re-reading or just daydreaming. Ms. Rossetti's Phoenix is a world I first discovered in Gift of the Goddess. It was fascinating then and continues to be. The addition of the Aetherii and the Fair enriches an already complex, colourful and creatively written population of cultures and characters. As with Gift, Tailspin is layered with entrancing plot arcs, adventure, erotic moments and romance woven through a delightful story. Definitely a must read for anyone wishing an amazing story.

Love Denise Rossetti's work! She is a virtuoso of the written word and enthralls me instantly with her fantastical stories of love, passion and always, -the romance. Book 2 in this series, was just as wonderful as the first and the characters and what they all go through to get their HEA, only made the love and passion between them, all the more 'real' and satisfying.

This was a great story. Fledge stood up for herself even though she was afraid and Mirry finally admitted his feelings for Jan. I read Strongman (Book 3) before I read this book which is book 2 and I will definately be purchasing book 1 (Gift of the Goddess). Come Howling is also a great story along the same lines.

Wonderfully written. I am hoping for a sequel to this book and can't wait for more of the series. Ms Rossetti is a wonderful author with the ability to create a world that sucks you into the book.

I loved this follow-up to the Goddess book, but I really wanted a sequel or a epilogue at the end. I won't spoil it, but you'll see what I mean.

I love the character development and how in the end we still want to learn more about these characters. I wish there was a follow up on fledge's history.
