Ben and Katie (who’ve known each other for years) go from friends to lovers in a span of two pages? I think this type of situation can be done well, but I just wasn’t convinced here. And, the author tries to make a big deal out of Ben’s “secret”. and lying and secrecy and yada yada yada. when the secret was revealed, I thought, “that’s it? seriously? big whoop” and why would that have any effect at all on his relationship with Katie? why would his mother being mean to Katie make Katie not love him? ???
