Terri on 5/22/2010, said: Loved the alpha male in this story. He is also from the first book. This is book 2 and you really need to read book 1 or you may be lost. There are two separate alien races that mostly live on their enemy planet underground as their world was mostly destroyed and their enemy lives above ground. They were made supernatural mutants by the chemical their enemies used to try to destroy them. Throw in some human females and an interesting plot and this book is a must read sci-fi erotica. The book should have been longer because the background information needed to be explored in more depth or the reader was lost. It's a good thing her years in the military have given her endurance,otherwise she might give in to the overwhelming feelings Mal Ton creates within her. Having spent more years fighting to save his people than most would believe, Mal Ton has neither time or intention of becoming closely involved with the human female he rescued. His mind may not have wanted involvement, but his body and heart were a story with another plot. With everything he had to deal with already, a feisty, human, female soldier was a complication that added heat, lust, and need at the most inopportune times. This second in the series was a lot smoother in many ways-such as segues into different scenes- with a lot more action to keep the interest. The sex was hotter, yet the entire book encompassed more than simply that by exploring the characters in more depth,thus bringing them to life. There are a few surprising twists which could get a bit confusing if done too often, but overall it was an intense, sexy read.
