J on 6/27/2011, said: I liked this storyline and certainly appreciated a female character that wasn't in trouble or dependent upon the male character in some way. It was a breath of fresh air. I liked the description of the sex, it was hot, maybe too long for some but I liked it. The only thing, and it bothered me a lot, is the last 1/4 of the book was really unbelievable. The main character is supposed to, out of the blue, go and help kill his own people. No talking to them. If they are his woman's friends then his own people be damned. It was written in a ridiculous manner and so begged the question of why put it in. The story could have ended just fine after the foiled assination attempt. There is no simpering lady in distress, but rather a smart lady figuring out how to survive while still kicking some patooty. Love the book and the entire series.
