This is a light-hearted, fast piece that kept me on the edge of my seat. I enjoyed watching Lydian and Galen learn about each other and love – especially amusing to see Galen being struck with the emotional 100-pound anvil out of the sky when he realized his love. The premise of the story was intriguing, although I wanted a lot more back-story about the demon – how she came to be, what she did, and how she was imprisoned to begin with. Cindy has a skilled touch with details; she truly makes the story shine with the attention she gives to breathing life into her characters and setting. I also enjoyed the wry sense of humor that she has, especially with regards to how they finally solved the puzzle. I’ll definitely be on the lookout for more spicy tales from Cindy – she’s a definite keeper on my shelf.
