Amy on 5/23/2011, said: Up to book 7 and this was my favorite. An excellent story with 3 very well drawn characters. The sex and emotion very well done in this one. I love how all these books are such different stories with different characters and issues. Sophie is so vulnerable having been a victim of her cruel father and brother. Now she flinches and hides from any conflict. She will accept anything to get away. She gets Ian who helps coax her out of her shell at the same time as trying to deal with Derek. Derek is a conflict in himself. Emotionally battered by the war, Ian is his anchor. He sees Sophie as the blade that will cut the line. He wants to hate Sophie but finds it is very hard to hate a sweet kicked puppy dog. Instead he tries to ignore that change is happening and fight the change all the way. Ian is caught in between and just hopes that it'll work out, though at point it just seems impossible. This is just a great story on how it does all come around in the end. It was an emotional roller coaster but I have to say the chemistry between the characters was explosive and I liked the bringing back of Kate, Very, Jason and Tony with the rest of the boys throughout the story. Ian was enduring and Derek was just hilarious. What can I say about Sophie? She was just flat out charming. I am glad I skipped book 3, as it did not seem to be connected to the first two and when reading about the characters and went straight to this. Not disappointed. Loved it. That Derek is something else, but in a good way. And Ian is just absolutely delicious as the head of the family. Sopie was a character you could feel for (what her sister was doing while she was being abused is unclear, the sister had to know). I hope that the rest of the series is written just as well.
