Edgar Armstrong, Earl of Callander, had not given much thought to marrying and producing an heir…until he meets Emily Sinclair. When their easy companionship grows into love, they learn that Edgar's progressively debilitating disease could be passed on to his children. As their joy turns to despair Edgar finds a solution. If he can't get her with child he knows just the man who can. But will Emily agree to his plan?

Angus MacNeill, Lord Callander's groom, thinks Emily married Edgar for his title, his money and the security he can give her. And when Edgar approaches him with a very unusual request Angus questions his master's motives. Still, it doesn't stop him from accepting Callander's terms — it's the only way he can be with Emily, even if only until she conceives.

Deeply in love with Edgar, Emily will do anything he asks of her. But she never suspected he'd ask something like this! Despite Edgar's reassurances she worries that his plan could destroy their marriage rather than strengthen it. And when she makes her choice, Emily wonders if there's room enough for two men in her heart — and in her bed.

Great story with strong characters. It shows how much a person will do for the ones they love. Grab your tissues and settle in because you will not want to put this book down. I'm looking forward to more titles from Kate Poole!!

This is one book that I would call a true romance with a lot of erotica in it. At first I was very skeptical but the storyline is strong, the characters are very believable, and is a very well-written story. The main character Emily has a lecherous ex-boss who is trying to create problems for her. She meets a wonderful rich man named Edgar, who is ill and dying. Their fondness for each other evolves to love. He wants to have children but doesn't want to pass on his illness to them so he asked one of his super sexy loyal workers, Angus, to help them father a child. Angus had always been secretly attracted to Emily but would never do anything to break the trust and loyalty he has for his boss. He is shocked and taken aback at what his boss asks him to do but does what he is asked. As for the ex-boss and his wife, they eventually will stop causing trouble for Emily with Angus' help. Overall, near the end of the story you realize that Edgar wanted to make sure his wife was taken care of when he died. This story has a very happy ending even though Edgar dies. I would recommend a big box of tissues and this wonderful story to everyone.

This was the best written story I've come across on Ellora's Cave. Definitely worthy of print. A story of love, not just steamy sex scenes. OK, I'm on this site for the steamy sex scenes, but this had the romance, too. A definite must read!

This was a great book. I loved watching three people work together around Edgar's illness and become fast friends and close lovers. It was sad to see Edgar go but since you knew he would die from the beginning of the book it wasn't surprising just a little sad. The end was beautiful, and I hope to read more from Kate Poole.

A must read, loved the story line, kept you wanting to turn the page to see what else would happened, of course, I cried at the sad parts. I would read it again, as is my thing when I encounter a good book. Thank you Kate Poole.
